 Meet Me!

 Hello all, my name is Bithia Corley. I previously introduced myself in my last post as an aspiring tattoo artist, wife, Christian, and dog mom, but there is a lot more to add to that list.

I work full time as a speech/language facilitator for an elementary and middle school. Before that, I was a CNA for four years. My job change has been recent and I am absolutely loving it. Alongside my passions for creativity and impacting others, I have grown a heart for children and being a part of their development.

At home, I have an adorable, rambunctious, Australian Shepard named Rucker. The newest aspect of my life is training him intermediate level obedience (we're on round 3 of retaking the class, this time we are going to pass the CGC!) and volunteering for search and rescue. Both Rucker and I are newbies at SAR, but boy, is it a rewarding experience... even when it's 30 degrees and FREEZING!

Concluding my extra circulars, I blog, write fiction, and crochet. Additionally, my husband and I participate in various activities together like running trails and practicing shooting at the range.

My husband is my absolute best friend and rock in all things. I owe so much of BC Tattoo Designs to him. Last Christmas, he gifted me my iPad which I create the majority of my art on, the second most life-changing event for my business, the first being growing my relationship with God.

I found my church home a little over two years ago and ever since, my life has miraculously changed. I have not always been focused on achieving my goals because for a long time, I didn't have any. Being apart of Life Church has helped me use my talents to glorify Him. I have every intention to be a tattoo artist who shows others the love of Jesus.

To the left is a picture of my husband and I. We have been married for a year and a half. My husband is a veteran, police officer, and the best man you'll ever meet. He is the largest inspiration for my art style.

When my husband and I met, we both already had a few tattoos here and there. He had bold, beautiful lines across his skin and I just had to incorporate that into my work.

I describe my style as traditional. I love the concept of "bold holds" which refers to the tattoo remaining distinct with age. 

Although it's tough to pick a favorite, I do have to say I prefer black and white over color. I appreciate and create both, but black and white will always be classic.

Tattoos hold a great deal of meaning to me. The image to the right is my first tattoo. I got it when I was sixteen years old and thought hard about what I wanted for the entire year prior.

My tattoo is more than just the nickname "B". Bees are responsible for so much beauty, growth, and positivity in this world... something that I aspire to be like. Loosely, I guess you could say my tattoo means "bee positive", although I'm a sucker for the more in-depth version.

Since getting my bee, I have gotten quite a few more. Some are more meaningful than others, but all hold a special place in my heart and stem from important instances in my life. I have plans for many, many, MANY more... but to get them all is going to take quite some time.

My favorite tattoo of them all is my snake (my bee is closely behind in second place). I drew it in the comfort of my dorm room about a week or two after starting college. It is a traditional design and includes inspiring lyrics from my favorite Twenty One Pilots song, Migraine.

My most recent tattoo is the words "Love is kind" on my ankle. Just coming out of 2020, getting those words tattooed on me was a great start to 2021. I am all about positive affirmations!

P.S. you know I had to add a picture of my sweet little son! This is an oldie, when he was probably 3 or 4 months, now he's an eight month old wild-maned fluff ball (he still wears cute bandanas)!
